Chart Week 03 of 2022: 16th January

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #3 of 2022: Week of 16th January

Chart notes:
English singer/songwriter Calum Scott has the new #1 video on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Rise", moving up one more place from the midweek's #2 position. Gay Times called the song "an anthem full of pounding drums, sweeping piano work, and stunning harmonies" and "a triumphant track with an uplifting message of embracing life and chasing your dreams". Calum shared, "I wanted to write a song that would empower people... no matter what they are going through or what their circumstances. We all have the opportunity to do it our way, to put our best foot forward, and to rise". Over the past four days, the video for "Rise" has gained an additional 87,978 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 4.14% since the midweek's chart).

Four videos move up into the Top 10. English singer Years and Years climbs 9 spots to #5 with "Sweet Talker". American vocalists Rebecca Black (from Irvine, California) and Slayyyter (from Kirkwood, Missouri) leap ahead 11 places to #8 with "Read My Mind". Two more American singers, Fletcher (from Wall Township, New Jersey) and Hayley Kiyoko (from Agoura Hills, California) rise 9 notches to #9 with "Cherry". They're joined in the Top 10 by London-based quintet Steps, who are moving up 3 more positions to #10 with "A Hundred Years of Winter".

Seven songs fall off the chart to make way for seven new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Mexa" by Mexican musician Yari Mejía, entering the chart at #34. Yari began her career as a makeup artist who specializes in working with drag queens, and she began sharing her work via social media in 2012. Today she is best-known for her work as a judge on the web series La Más Draga since 2018, which is a drag competition based on the format of RuPaul's Drag Race and adapted for Mexican pop culture. The music video for "Mexa" features all the queens from the most recent season (season 4) of La Más Draga. Over the past half-week, the video for "Mexa" has gained an additional 30,552 YouTube views (which is an increase of 5.12% over the previous chart period).

Further down the chart, we have 6 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from England, the U.S.A., France, Canada, Denmark, Syria, and South Africa:
