Chart Week 04 of 2022: 23rd January

Twice a week, Tad's LGBT Music Chart brings you the Top 50 music videos by LGBTQ artists from around the world.

Chart Week #4 of 2022: Week of 23rd January

Chart notes:
English singer/songwriter Olly Alexander (better known as Years And Years) captures the #1 spot on the LGBT chart this weekend with "Sweet Talker", moving up 1 more place from the midweek's #2 position. The track, a collaboration with Swedish duo Galantis, is the third single off Olly's new album Night Call (following up on "Starstruck" and "Crave", both of which made the Top 10 on the LGBT chart in 2021 -- peaking at #1 and #7 respectively). Although he's continuing to use the name Years And Years, the other band members have departed and this is Olly's first full-length album as a solo artist. The song is currently at #6 on the official U.K. radio airplay chart, and at #11 on the Irish airplay chart. Over the past four days, the video for "Sweet Talker" has gained an additional 95,239 views on YouTube (which is an increase of 8.29% since the midweek's chart).

Three videos move up into the Top 10 this weekend. Spanish vocalist Apolo climbs 6 notches to #6 with "Mi Príncipe". Mexican singer Yari Mejía leaps ahead 17 places to #8 with "Mexa". They're joined in the Top 10 by American singer/songwriter LP, who rises 7 spots to #9 with "Conversation".

Six songs fall off the chart to make way for six new songs. The highest debut this weekend was "Clarão" by Brazilian singer Jão, entering the chart at #33. According to SoundCharts, the track has reached as high as #5 on the official digital/streaming chart in Brazil. Over the past half-week, the video for "Clarão" has gained an additional 13,832 YouTube views (which is an increase of 7.62% over the previous chart period).

Further down the chart, we have 5 more debuts by LGBTQ artists from the U.S.A., Germany, and England:
  • Leopold (from Germany)
  • Alaska Thunderfuck (from Pennsylvania, USA)
  • Rita Ora (from England, UK)
  • Halsey (from New Jersey, USA)
  • Jordy (originally from Illinois, USA)

Chart positions are based on points assigned from a combination of YouTube views and votes. If you'd like to vote for your favorite videos, please feel free to leave a comment on this blog (anonymous comments are permitted) or send me a private message (see the contact info below). Suggestions for new videos are also welcomed, but they must be from an LGBTQ artist & they must be available on YouTube.
